Dr. Jean McFadden Layton,
Naturopathic Physician
Family Medicine and Pediatrics

Clinical Nutrition: Since food is the best medicine, Dr. Layton uses diet and
nutritional supplementation as a first line of change in her practice. Her
experience as a chef gives her dietary suggestions easy to follow practicality.
This is one of her strengths with the transition to a Gluten-Free Diet.  She teaches
classes around Whatcom County to assist people just learning about Gluten-Free
Living.

Botanical Medicine: Plants are powerful medicines that are compatible with the
body's own chemistry. They can be gently effective with few toxic side effects.

Homeopathic Medicine: Homeopathic medicine is based on the principle of “like
cures like.” Clinical observation indicates that it works on a subtle-yet powerful-
energetic level, gently acting to strengthen the body's healing.

Physical Medicine: Dr. Layton uses CranioSacral Therapy, physical manipulation,
exercise, prescription massage, water, heat and cold to guide your body to
optimal health.

Psychological Medicine: Mental attitudes and emotional states can cause physical
illness. Counseling and stress management are used to help patients heal
psychologically.

Dr. Layton's practice also includes laboratory testing, the use of natural hormones
and tissue derived therapeutics such as natural thyroid.
